November 17, 2008 Public Budget Hearing

TOWN OF FOND DU LAC
FOND DU LAC COUNTY
PUBLIC BUDGET HEARING
NOVEMBER 17, 2008
6:00 PM

The Public Budget Hearing was called to order by Chairman Harold
Manske.  Present were Chairman Manske, Supervisors Phyllis Giese and
LeRoy Schmitz, Clerk Patti Supple, Treasurer Jody Roffers, Fire Chief
Craig Sanborn, and Bob Streblow.  Confirmation was made of open
meeting notice.

Due to updates the following  changes are recommended for the 2009
budget:  
Highway $61,000.00
Ambulance Service:  $40,000.00
Debt Retirement:  $84,000.00
Motion was made by Giese and seconded by Manske to approve the 2009
budget with the recommended changes.  Motion carried.

SPECIAL TOWN MEETING
Immediately following the Public Budget Hearing

The Special Town Meeting was called to order pursuant to Sec 60.12 (1)
c of Wis. Statutes for the following purposes:  to approve the 2009
highway expenditures, to adopt the 2008 tax levy to be paid in 2009
and to establish compensation for elected town officials for the terms
of office to begin in 2009.

Pursuant to Section 81.01 (3) of Wis. Statutes motion was made and
seconded to approve the highway expenditures of $61, 173.33.  Motion
carried 5 aye.

Pursuant to Section 60.01 (1) (a) of Wis. Statutes, motion was made
and seconded to establish the mil rate of 2.251794 for a tax levy of
$542,643.00 and a utility mil rate of .636925 for a tax levy of
$153,000.00.  Motion carried 5 aye.

Motion was made and seconded to establish the following compensation
for elected officials:
Chairman and supervisors $50.00 per month reimbursement for mileage
and phone.  
Clerk pay increase to $20,000.00.
Treasurer to remain the same.
Motion carried  5 aye.

Motion was made and seconded to adjourn.  Motion carried.
